— getting involved—

There are lots of ways to get involved in our project.

If you or someone you know has a family story about the strike of 1913, the Italian Hall disaster, or Calumet in the old days, we'd love to hear it. We've received email correspondence from around the country and around the world, and we do our best to follow up on compelling leads and tips. Your stories are the stories we want to tell. Get in touch!

If you or someone you know has old family photographs or (above all) old motion picture footage of Calumet or the Copper Country before 1965 or so, please drop us a line. We are also interested in old home movies of life in the UP and in film or video footage of the Italian Hall demolition.

Most important of all, if you or your organization would like to make a tax deductible contribution to our project, please contact us. All contributions to the film should be made payable to our fiscal sponsor, The Center for Independent Documentary, with "1913 Massacre Film Project" on the memo line.

Make sure you specify that your donation is earmarked for the 1913 Massacre Film Project. You can do so by toggling the "Purpose of Your Donation" button and scrolling through the choices to 1913 Massacre .

Finally, as we enter post-production, we'll be creating a number of unpaid internships for students and others who can help transcribe interview material and keep things moving along.
